My sister loves it there but it's not my type of place. I'm not crazy about Country Western music. ( which is a big deal when you are there for very long) and the menu was very limited but the waitress was wonderful. I ordered a 4 ounce steak which was ok. I'm sorry I couldn't have given it a better rating. My husband wasn't crazy over it either and he did like the music. It was a very "downhome" place, so if you like that type of place I'm sure you would like it there.

Bring an appetite! Their tenderloin sandwiches are huge! And delicious!

My Dad and I came down to Missouri from Minnesota to visit relatives. We had lunch with my uncle, and had tenderloin sandwiches, they were delicious! We don't get anything like that in Minnesota! And they offered to let us have a drink for the road. Wonderful food and fantastic service! Thank you!

Kind of a hidden gem love the food

I have been wanting to try this place for a long time. I finally tried it this weekend with my wife and a couple of friends. Everyone was more than happy with their steaks and raved about the scallop potatoes. Worth the drive.

Yuuuummmyyy!!! This place has home cooked food that is so delicious!! The staff is friendly and attentive. The place itself is nice and clean with plenty of seating available. There are also a lot of menu options. A true hidden gem in Madison!

The best food around! Worth the drive for anyone who doesn't live locally! I find the steak salad wonderful, but everything on the menu is! It's a real treat that there is such a great quality restaurant in a rural place like Madison. I'll pick The Hoof over Texas Road House in Columbia anyday! Also it's worth mentioning the customer service is always on par even on a busy night, and with food like theirs it's usually busy! 😀

Food wasn't as good has it use to be. and the AC was real bad it must of been broken. service was bad too. We won't eat there anytime soon.

Very nice place. Had the ribeye sandwich and fries. The food and the service was very good. Would go back again when in the area.

Good tenderloin. Could season the meat or breading more. Hand cut fries are great if they aren’t over cooked, These were. Overall great place, wonderful staff for being in a small community. A lot to love in central MO. I’d love for them to be in my small community. I’ll be back to try a burger next time I’m through town.

Had the glazed salmon ,baked sweetparato,asparagus, was excellent, will go back for more..people and service outstanding, love the bartender by the fireplace !

Ordered the surf and turf special on friday night. SO GOOD!! The steak, shrimp, and garlic cream potatoes were awesome. We also loved our appetizer and the cheesecake that we ordered to take home.

Found this place by accident and loved it. We had the best and biggest tenderloin we'd ever seen. Friendly service too! Will definitely return.

Good service and reasonable prices

Stopped here simply because it looked great as I drove by... Server was very friendly and working hard. The grilled tenderloin is probably the best I've ever had, and that's coming from someone from Iowa... Worth a visit if you're near Madison, MO.

It was good food and good service. Servers need a little more training and probably a few more hands

The hoof is an amazing small town steakhouse experience. The atmosphere is simple country with splashes of cattleman history. The food is the real attraction with perfectly prepared steaks at great prices. The service have for the most part been very good and the only time I have had a wait longer than 15 minutes was for a large party on a busy day.

Humongous tenderloin -only $9.99 good steak, reasonable price!

Huge tenderloins, good service

Steaks were well seasoned and perfectly cooked at medium and medium rare. Fresh baked potato was huge, grilled asparagus, onion rings and nice salad. Even the grilled toast was yummy!

Very personal atmosphere, small town setting. Restaurant was clean, service was fast as could be expected. We had a large group of people. And the food was very good, with large portions. Recommend.

First time visit & even though it was quite busy, the wait was totally worth it! Great food, service & very friendly @

It was above average sized proportions, that said the tenderloin was pretty bland.The fries were very good. Our waitress didn't mention the special to us but we heard another waitress tell her table. Of course that was after we had already ordered and got our food. Which really stung because we would of both had the fried chicken special.I'll try the place again just to have something besides the tenderloin before I write this place off the list. I will have to try a hamburger, a steak or even the chicken on the next visit. Then maybe I can recommend it and add a star or two.E.T.A.I've been back and had the burger and the wife had the chicken. Both of us were really happy with the food and experience. I'm adding a star and telling you have anything but the tenderloin, don't look at it and think that looks good cause in this case looks can be deceiving. Best burger I've had since we moved to the area in June.

Very clean. Always great food. The people are always very friendly. We make the hour trip here atleast twice a month. Never disappointed!

Ribeye was cooked perfectly and was incredibly juicy and tender. Service was good. Great food and reasonable prices. One of our favorite places to eat!
